Description
Aprovasc is indicated in the treatment of hypertension in adult patients in whom blood pressure is not adequately controlled on irbesartan or amlodipine monotherapy.
SIDE EFFECT
It is an angiotensin-receptor blocker/calcium-channel blocker fixed-dose single-pill combination, whose constituent drugs exert additive effects when coadministered.
PRECAUTION
Use of Aprovasc concomitantly with medicinal products containing aliskiren is contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus or moderate to severe renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate [GFR] <60 mL/min/1.73 m2), and is not recommended in other patients.
